Summary: The role of Locum Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist involves providing part-time mental health services for children and adolescents in Gwynedd and Anglesey, covering maternity leave for 12 months. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive child and adolescent mental health services.
- Work collaboratively with other Community Consultants and their teams.
- Develop services for children with complex mental health conditions.
- Engage in teaching and supervision of specialty doctors and the multi-disciplinary team.
- Participate in clinical governance, committee work, and management roles.
- Attend regular departmental meetings and undertake study leave.
Key Skills:
- GMC Registration.
- Specialist Registrar able to take up post within 3 months of completing CCST.
- Diagnosis and treatment of mental illness in children and adolescents.
- Effective time management.
- Experience in community CAMHS settings.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (Children Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Effective leadership abilities.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Approved training status and willingness to undertake further training.
