Summary: The Locum CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist role involves providing clinical leadership and expertise within a 12-bed inpatient unit focused on child and adolescent mental health. The position requires conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care. This temporary locum contract offers a mix of on-site and remote work, supporting the expansion of mental health services for young people. The role is ideal for a UK-registered doctor with experience in mental health care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualised treatment plans for children and adolescents.
- Provide clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary team, ensuring high standards of patient care.
- Offer psychiatric interventions, including medication management and therapeutic approaches.
- Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and external professionals to provide holistic patient care.
- Supervise and support junior medical staff and allied health professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives within the unit.
Key Skills:
- Must be a UK-registered doctor on the GMC Specialist Register.
- Ideally possess Approved Clinician (AC) Status.
- A minimum of one year of experience as a consultant (newly qualified consultants will also be considered).
- Right to work in the UK is essential.
- Ability to complete DBS, ID verification, training, and compliance checks as required.
