Summary: The role of Locum Band 6 Children's Community Occupational Therapist involves providing high-quality, child-centred occupational therapy services to children with various developmental, physical, and sensory needs. The position requires conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams. This locum position is full-time and based in Leyland, focusing on improving outcomes for children aged 3 to teenage years. The contract duration is between 3 to 6 months with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of children with developmental delays, physical disabilities, and sensory integration difficulties.
• Develop and deliver individualised treatment plans in collaboration with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide recommendations and training for adaptive equipment, access, and environmental modifications.
• Support children’s participation in daily living, play, and school activities.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with service protocols.
• Participate in service development initiatives and attend regular MDT meetings.

Key Skills:

• HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
• Minimum of 12 months’ paediatric experience in a community, educational, or clinical setting.
• Solid understanding of child development and therapeutic interventions.
• Strong communication and case management skills.
• Car driver with access to a vehicle for community visits.
• Enhanced DBS clearance (mandatory).
