Summary: The Band 6 Occupational Therapist - Community role at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust involves providing specialized assessments and interventions within the Dementia Team. The position requires a minimum of 6 months NHS experience and entails working part-time for 22.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will manage a caseload independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. This temporary role is set to start as soon as possible and lasts for 12 weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions.
- Offer consultative knowledge and support to the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Independently manage a caseload of service users, including care coordination when required.
- Perform a blend of generic and profession-specific duties, including participation in team duty roles.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, families, carers, and local communities.
- Maintain clear communication using creative and innovative methods.
- Work autonomously within multidisciplinary teams, with supervision from the Clinical Lead and support from specialist Occupational Therapists.
Key Skills:
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Previous experience in mental health and community settings.
- Ability to visit patients in their homes; essential car driver with access to a vehicle.
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Availability to start immediately for a 12-week assignment.
