Summary: The Band 6 Occupational Therapist - Community role at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust involves providing specialized assessments and interventions within the Dementia Team. The position requires a minimum of 6 months NHS experience and entails working part-time for 22.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will manage a caseload independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. This temporary role is set to start as soon as possible and lasts for 12 weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions.
  • Offer consultative knowledge and support to the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  • Independently manage a caseload of service users, including care coordination when required.
  • Perform a blend of generic and profession-specific duties, including participation in team duty roles.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, families, carers, and local communities.
  • Maintain clear communication using creative and innovative methods.
  • Work autonomously within multidisciplinary teams, with supervision from the Clinical Lead and support from specialist Occupational Therapists.

Key Skills:

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Previous experience in mental health and community settings.
  • Ability to visit patients in their homes; essential car driver with access to a vehicle.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Availability to start immediately for a 12-week assignment.
