Summary: The Linux Infra System & DevOps Engineer will be responsible for writing operational procedures while collaborating with the solution team to enhance existing HDE tooling for desktop provisioning and server functions in Birmingham. The role requires adaptability to changing requirements and involves various aspects of desktop and server management. The candidate must possess SC/NppV3 clearance and have extensive experience in DevOps practices, particularly within an AWS environment.

- Servers Maintenance
- Desktop Technical Faults 1st Line Support
- Backup and Restore
- Capacity Management and Server Tuning
- License and CERT Management
- Automate manual work
- Problem diagnosis and support
- Software Tools Installation and Management
- Enable the environment by using puppet framework based on the design
- Flexibility to travel to remote places on demand (Birmingham + Croydon)
Key Skills:
- 15+ Years of experience
- Hands on experience in Puppet Framework, Docker Framework and Environment Management
- AWS: 5+ years' experience with using a broad range of AWS technologies (eg EC2, RDS, ELB, EBD, S3, VPC, Glacier, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS)
- Expertise in provisioning infrastructure using Terraform, VMs with tools such as Vagrant
- Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime Amazon AWS environment
- Strong Scripting (eg Shell, Python, Ruby, Perl, JAVA) and automation skills
- Through knowledge of Jenkins and pipeline using groovy script
- Windows and Linux system administration
- Experience with system monitoring tools (eg Nagios)
