Summary: The role of Legal Officer involves providing legal support within a Local Government environment, specifically to the People and Place Team at Wrexham Council. The position requires handling both contentious and non-contentious legal matters related to the Council’s Housing Revenue Account, including drafting documents and assisting Senior Lawyers. The role offers a supportive work environment with opportunities for professional development and flexible working arrangements. This is a temporary contract until 31/03/2027.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support to the People and Place Team regarding the Housing Revenue Account.
  • Assist with non-contentious legal matters, including preparation of Reports on Title and land transactions.
  • Support contentious matters related to Tenancy Enforcement and Housing Disrepair.
  • Manage an individual caseload and assist Senior Lawyers with evidence organization and document drafting.
  • Prepare instructions to Counsel and conduct legal research.

Key Skills:

  • Legally qualified individual with relevant legal experience.
  • Strong drafting and document review skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively.
  • Research skills and familiarity with legal processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with capability to work in both English and Welsh preferred.
