Summary: The Legal Clinic Manager will oversee the daily operations of King’s Legal Clinic, ensuring efficient management and a positive learning environment for law students. This role involves supervising student activities, managing case allocations, and coordinating research and justice projects. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, along with experience in legal environments or higher education. The role is a full-time, fixed-term contract starting in July 2025, with potential for remote work by agreement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of King’s Legal Clinic under the direction of the Clinic Director and Assistant Director.
  • Supervise students in processing client inquiries and conduct suitability and conflict checks with law firm partners.
  • Allocate cases to student advisors and internal/external supervisors.
  • Organize and deliver the Clinic’s research and justice projects and training programs.
  • Ensure the Clinic operates smoothly and efficiently, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Manage a small team, including the Legal Clinic Coordinator and Legal Clinic Administrator.

Key Skills:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of the English legal system and data protection requirements.
  • At least two years of experience managing or coordinating a team.
  • Experience in a university environment, particularly in a student law clinic.
  • Project management experience, including stakeholder engagement and delivery management.
  • Experience working with students, legal volunteers, or the public on legal issues.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft packages and legal case management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
