Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, test, and support secure and scalable software systems using modern development practices.

  • Collaborate within agile teams to understand user needs and translate them into working solutions.

  • Maintain and improve existing systems, including addressing technical debt and legacy challenges.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in software development and resolving complex issues within large-scale digital transformation programmes.
  • Proven track record of delivering technical solutions within agile, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in technologies such as .NET Framework / .NET Core, ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, T-SQL, Azure, Angular, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Flow, Dynamics 365.
  • Skilled in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with experience in building secure, accessible, and scalable internet services.
  • Experienced in designing, developing, and managing secure APIs and microservices.
  • Strong understanding of SOLID principles and software design patterns.
  • Familiar with modern software development practices, including Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD pipelines.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Lead Software Engineer to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Bristol, Coventry, Leeds, Liverpool or Newcastle. Our client is seeking a Software Engineer to join our growing Digital team, where you’ll help them build, modernise, and support the systems that enable us to deliver homes, funding, and services more effectively. You will contribute to the development and support of innovative solutions that address real-world housing challenges. As part of a multi-disciplinary agile team, you’ll work across modern and legacy systems, taking a hands-on role in building, integrating, and maintaining software services. You’ll bring expertise in full stack development, systems integration, cloud technologies, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
