Summary: The Lead Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving the quality engineering strategy within a mobile lab, focusing on Flutter mobile applications and Java APIs. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure quality across all touchpoints and involves leading test planning and automation efforts. The position is hybrid, requiring three days a week in the office, and is set for a six-month contract. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quality engineering, particularly in mobile app testing and API validation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive the overall QE strategy for the mobile lab.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and third-party providers to ensure quality across all touchpoints.
  • Lead test planning, estimation, and execution across Flutter mobile apps and Java APIs.
  • Define, implement, and evolve automation frameworks for mobile (Flutter) and Back End (API) testing.
  • Ensure seamless integration and robust validation of third-party APIs and SDKs.
  • Establish and monitor quality metrics, defect leakage trends, and automation coverage.
  • Foster a quality-first mindset within the team and across the development life cycle.
  • Mentor and grow a high-performing team of QE engineers.
  • Drive continuous improvement in QE tools, processes, and best practices.

Key Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead role.
  • Strong experience testing mobile apps - ideally Flutter or cross-platform frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of Java-based APIs and Back End testing.
  • Proven experience with REST API automation tools (eg, Postman, RestAssured).
  • Experience with mobile automation frameworks (eg, Appium, Flutter Driver, or integration with CI/CD).
  • Working knowledge of tools like JIRA, TestRail, Jenkins, Git, etc.
  • Deep understanding of modern testing practices including shift-left, CI/CD, mocking, and contract testing.
  • Familiarity with testing third-party integrations via APIs and SDKs.
