Summary: The Ministry of Justice is seeking a Lead Power Platform Developer for a 6-month hybrid contract, requiring SC Clearance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop enterprise-grade Power Platform model-driven apps.
  • Integrate external REST APIs with Power Platform model-driven apps.
  • Build REST APIs to expose data from Power Platform model-driven apps.
  • Use OAuth/OIDC to secure REST APIs.
  • Implement CI/CD automated pipeline tooling, including automated test frameworks.
  • Work with event-driven microservice architecture.
  • Document and present option papers, collaborating with peers on technical solutions.
  • Create and maintain Dataverse data models for handling sensitive PII data.
  • Utilize cloud networking, JSON data, and AWS SQS as needed.

Key Skills:

  • SC cleared.
  • Microsoft Certified in Power Platform Solution Architecture, Developer, or relevant technologies preferred.
  • Experience providing technical leadership to junior developers.
  • Ability to work with non-technical stakeholders from various backgrounds.
  • Experience promoting knowledge-sharing within and across teams.
  • Experience in the public sector, preferably with knowledge of GDS and handling sensitive PII data.

Detailed Description From Employer:

On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a Lead Power Platform Developer (Inside IR35) for a 6 month hybrid contract based 3 days per week in any MoJ UK office. SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

DASO is a CRM-like service built using Power Platform. An experienced Power Platform developer is required to join our team and carry out some immediate remediation tasks that will involve integrating with existing APIs, reviewing the solution as a whole, and upskilling an existing team member.

You should be able to demonstrate experience of:

  • Development of delivering enterprise-grade Power Platform model-driven apps
  • Integrating external REST APIs with Power Platform model-driven apps
  • Building REST APIs to expose data from Power Platform model-driven apps
  • Using OAuth/OIDC to secure REST APIs
  • CI/CD automated pipeline tooling, including automated test frameworks and deployment of Power Platform apps across multiple environments
  • Event-driven microservice architecture
  • Documenting and presenting option papers and working with peers to identify appropriate technical solutions and their trade-offs.
  • Creating and maintaining Dataverse data models for handling sensitive PII data
  • Experience of cloud networking (e.g. VPCs, AWS/Azure bridges, etc), JSON data, AWS SQS, Microsoft Purview, whilst not essential, may be useful

Skills & experience required:

  • SC cleared
  • Microsoft Certified in Power Platform Solution Architecture, Developer or other relevant Power Platform/Azure technologies would be preferred
  • Experience in providing technical leadership to junior developers - guiding, coaching and upskilling where necessary
  • Experience in working with a range of non-technical stakeholders with policy, operational or project-management backgrounds
  • Experience in promoting knowledge-sharing within and across teams
  • Experience working in public sector (central government), knowledge of GDS, handling sensitive PII data would be preferable
