Summary: The Lead Network Architect will oversee the DRS Exit Project for the Home Office, focusing on the migration of a policing data centre to a new facility. This role requires collaboration with various technical teams and stakeholders, ensuring the swift completion of tasks while addressing technical challenges. Candidates must hold or be eligible for SC Clearance and have a strong background in network architecture and engineering. The position is hybrid, requiring in-office presence two days a week in Greater London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the DRS Exit Project on behalf of the N&I Engineering Team and collaborate with delivery partner Capgemini and other technical teams.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the transition programme, overseeing technical aspects and ensuring timely task completion.
  • Participate in technical hands-on activities with Capgemini and address challenges, blockers, and dependencies.
  • Contribute to various network engineering initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, subnetting, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
  • Extensive experience in LAN/WAN network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in firewall technologies, including Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Juniper, and Check Point.
  • Ability to establish and enforce network governance processes, standards, and policies.
  • Experience in defining and implementing network security architectures.
  • Knowledge of ensuring network compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
