Summary: The Lead Architect role involves driving a major IT carve-out programme for an organization that has recently undergone an acquisition. The position requires a seasoned architect with experience in mergers and acquisitions, covering various IT aspects such as ERP implementation, infrastructure, and security systems. The candidate will lead technical design, mentor teams, and ensure alignment with broader strategies. This is a hands-on role that necessitates strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the technical design of systems and services, justifying and communicating design decisions
  • Assuring other services and system quality, ensuring the technical work fits into the broader strategy for government
  • Exploring the benefits of cross-government alignment
  • Providing mentoring within teams
  • Providing leadership to other architects
  • Managing programme TDA in conjunction with the Head of Design Authority Business Architecture / Enterprise Architecture as required

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience of working on carve out/ mergers and acquisition programmes
  • Broad architecture background with an emphasis on Infrastructure/Security/Application and integration
  • Ability to write High level and low level design documents
  • Experience working on implementations and integrations
  • Ability to be hands on (this is not just a strategic role)
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills

Detailed Description From Employer:

We have an urgent opportunity for a Lead Architect to join our client on an initial 6 month contract to drive a major IT carve-out programme. The organisation have recently gone through an acquisition and need a seasoned Architect that has worked on M&A’s programmes previously. The Architect will need to have a broad background covering all aspects of IT, including but not limited to, ERP implementation, HR & Payroll, infrastructure, Access control systems, Networks, Security Systems, Data migration, O365

Key responsibilities

  • Leading the technical design of systems and services, justifying and communicating design decisions
  • Assure other services and system quality, ensuring the technical work fits into the broader strategy for government
  • Explore the benefits of cross-government alignment
  • Provide mentoring within teams
  • Provide leadership to other architects
  • Manage programme TDA in conjunction with the Head of Design Authority Business Architecture / Enterprise Architecture as required

The successful candidate will need to have;

  • Previous experience of working on carve out/ mergers and acquisition programmes
  • Broad architecture background with an emphasis on Infrastructure/Security/Application and integration
  • Ability to write High level and low level design documents

  • Ability to be hands on (this is not just a strategic role)

This role has been deemed outside of IR35 and does require 2 days a week onsite in Horley with occasional travel to other sites.
