Summary: The Senior Database Officer at Dementia UK will lead key tasks within the Database Services team, focusing on developing automated processes to enhance data accuracy and streamline workflows. This role involves collaboration with the Database Manager and providing support to the Supporter Care team, ensuring effective use of the supporter database. The position is based in a hybrid working environment, requiring at least one day per week in the Aldgate, London office. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data protection guidelines and experience with fundraising databases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead important tasks within the Database Services team.
- Develop and refine automated processes using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Power Automate, and Excel Power Query.
- Streamline workflows and enhance data accuracy for the supporter database.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for the Supporter Care team regarding manual data entry.
- Improve documentation and processes related to database usage.
- Support fundraising teams in effectively using the database.
- Assist Database Officers in responding to complex queries.
Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of data protection guidelines (GDPR).
- Experience using a fundraising database for data entry, maintenance, and importation.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using PowerQuery within Excel or the M language within Power BI.

As our Senior Database Officer, you'll take the lead on important tasks within the Database Services team. Your expertise will help streamline workflows, enhance data accuracy and ensure our supporter database runs smoothly and reliably. Youll be a trusted point of contact for the Supporter Care team, offering guidance on manual data entry and helping improve documentation and processes. Youll help shape best practice across the organisation, ensuring our fundraising teams are empowered to use the database confidently and effectively. Youll also support our two Database Officers in responding to complex queries.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data protection guidelines (GDPR) and will bring previous experience in using a fundraising database for data entry, maintenance, and importation. A high level of computer literacy is essential and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Particularly experience using PowerQuery within Excel, or experience using the M language within Power BI to drive the automated manipulation of data.
