Summary: The role involves multiple experienced Contract Core Server-Side Java Developers for a Tier 1 investment bank, focusing on the Equity Swaps business. Developers will work on a real-time calculation engine, utilizing advanced Java technologies and methodologies in a dynamic global front-office team. The position emphasizes building robust solutions while collaborating with stakeholders and adapting to a fast-paced environment. Candidates will also engage in production support and contribute to the development cycle, including unit testing and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop within an agile squad using numerous Java services that interact via messaging for real-time product outputs.
- Utilize technologies such as highly multi-threaded Java, Sharded Mongo DB, and caching to ensure scale and performance.
- Write quality unit tests, supply documentation for new feature build-outs, and participate in the test cycle.
- Engage in Level 3 production support and assist with weekend deployment activities as needed.
- Demonstrate leadership and responsibility for the delivery of new features while prioritizing work under pressure.
Key Skills:
- Core server-side Java including Data Structures and Concurrency.
- Spring, Junit, and Linux experience.
- Proficiency in relational databases (preferably Sybase and/or DB2) with SQL query writing skills.
- Understanding of message-based architectures and full SDLC experience.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Interest in learning the business supported by applications and agile software development practices.
- Familiarity with JMS, MQ, Kafka, MongoDB, and common Open Source libraries in Java development.
- Database performance tuning and knowledge of Python/Shell scripting.
- Financial domain knowledge, particularly in Equities.
