Summary: The IT Procurement and Contracts Lead is responsible for managing IT contracts to ensure compliance, cost-effectiveness, and high performance within the Oil and Gas industry. This role involves developing procurement strategies, collaborating with teams for effective contract management, and monitoring supplier performance. The position requires strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of procurement principles, along with the ability to present reports to senior management. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in IT procurement and contract management, particularly in a multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage IT contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness, compliance, and high performance.
- Develop and coordinate IT procurement strategies that support the department’s objectives and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with the IT and Procurement teams to ensure seamless contract management processes and effective communication between stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in IT procurement and contract management.
- Ensure that all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT procurement and contract management.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, contract performance, and cost savings to senior management.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT procurement and contract management within the Oil and Gas industry or a similar sector.
- Proven track record in negotiating and managing complex IT contracts.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on cost-effectiveness and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional certification in procurement or contract management (e.g., CIPS, CPM, or equivalent).
- Experience working in a multinational or multicultural environment.
- Knowledge of regional market conditions and supplier landscape in Middle East.
- Experience with ERP systems and other enterprise-level procurement software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong Team player with demonstrated ability in consensus building to ensure excellent stakeholder engagement, alignment and ethical decision-making.
- Essential Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Desirable proficiency in Arabic and/or Kurdish.
