Summary: The IT Helpdesk Technician role involves providing first-line support for various technologies while managing ICT incidents and changes. The position requires assisting users during digital transformation and documenting knowledge articles for departmental support. The role is suitable for recent graduates or those early in their IT careers, with a contract duration of 6-9 months. The position is based on-site in Inverness, Scotland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Logging ICT incidents, problems, and changes in accordance with defined processes.
- Supporting users through digital transformation processes and services.
- Documenting knowledge articles to support the wider department.
- Providing 1st line support for technologies such as AVD, VMWare, Networking, and Microsoft Office.
- Escalating complex issues to the ICT Systems Engineer.
- Ordering, asset managing, building, and installing a broad range of ICT hardware and software.
- Administering Office 365, Exchange, and other ICT systems as required.
- Logging support requests with 3rd party suppliers and ensuring correct details are passed to the support team.
- Issuing and setting up mobile phones.
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of ICT incident management processes.
- Experience with AVD, VMWare, Networking, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to document knowledge articles effectively.
- Familiarity with Office 365 and Exchange administration.
- Strong communication skills for user support and escalation processes.
- Basic understanding of ICT hardware and software installation.
- Recent graduation or early-stage career in IT.
