Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and leading a team of 4 people, including direct line management of 3.
  • Daily ownership and management of IP-related responsibilities, providing expert support with filing, prosecution, and maintenance of IP processes.
  • Managing and processing invention submissions.
  • Overseeing UK, PCT, SG IPOS, and EP patent office accounts, with sole responsibility for filing IP rights.
  • Filing patents, designs, trademarks, oppositions, and appeals, including online responses and translations.
  • Ownership of Intellectual Property Steering Group outcomes and new filing processes.
  • Management of the Dyson domain name portfolio, including time-sensitive filings and regular portfolio reviews.
  • Coordinating the obtaining of signed legal documentation from senior stakeholders and arranging notarization and legalization.
  • First point of contact for IP attorneys and patent offices regarding application queries.
  • Providing specialist administrative support to IP attorneys and the infringement and litigation team.
  • Creating and maintaining IP rights in the patent management system (Anaqua).
  • Processing incoming emails from agents and updating IP records in the patent management system.

About The Role
We are looking for a qualified, experienced IP Formalities Manager to join the team for a 12 month fixed term contract. This will be a maternity cover that will commence in September. We're flexible on hours (preferably 32-39 hours per week can be considered).

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Managing and leading the team which includes 4 people (direct line management of 3)
  • Daily ownership and management of IP related responsibilities, providing expert and specialist support with the filing, prosecution and maintenance of IP processes and the IP portfolio
  • Managing and processing invention submissions
  • Management of the UK, PCT, SG IPOS and EP patent office accounts and has sole responsibility of filing our IP rights direct with these patent offices
  • Filing Patents, Designs, Trademarks, Oppositions and Appeals, plus online direct responses, translations and official fees
  • Ownership of the Intellectual Property Steering Group outcomes and new filing processes
  • Management of the Dyson domain name portfolio including new time sensitive filings and carrying out regular portfolio reviews with the trade mark attorneys
  • Responsible for the coordination of obtaining signed legal documentation from senior stakeholders and Directors in Dyson and arranging for documents to be notarised and legalised based on country requirement knowledge
  • First point of contact for IP attorneys and the patent offices for queries in relation to applications
  • Responsible for providing specialist administrative support to the IP Attorneys and infringement and litigation team
  • Creating IP rights in patent management system (Anaqua) and ongoing maintenance and management of system
  • Processing incoming emails from agents and updating IP records in patent management system (Anaqua)

About You

  • Has strong IP administration and management experience
