We are working exclusively with a global legal firm who are seeking to place a contractor within their EMEA Procurement team. This procurement function is a smaller, growing outfit, where you will have the opportunity to deliver on some great technology sourcing projects as well as support on wider indirect spend areas.
Your new role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team and play a key role in acquiring goods and services efficiently and cost-effectively. This role is central to ensuring the firm operates smoothly while maintaining budgetary discipline. You will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, issuing RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships throughout their lifecycle. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders and legal teams to ensure contracts meet business needs and comply with regulations. The role also involves maintaining procurement documentation, running financial checks, supporting strategic cost-saving initiatives, and ensuring full compliance with procurement policies. You’ll manage supplier onboarding, monitor performance, and lead governance meetings to drive innovation and service quality. Additional responsibilities include order management, data analysis, reporting, and supporting special projects such as system upgrades and global initiatives.
What you need to Succeed
To succeed in this role, you’ll need strong commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to secure favourable terms and drive cost savings. A solid understanding of procurement processes, contract law, and risk management is essential. You should be confident working with stakeholders at all levels, able to explain contractual terms clearly, and comfortable mentoring technical staff on commercial matters. Strong analytical skills are key for tracking spend, evaluating supplier performance, and generating actionable insights. You’ll need to be highly organised, capable of managing multiple priorities, and adept at using procurement tools and systems. Experience in vendor management, compliance, and strategic sourcing will be highly beneficial. Above all, you’ll be a collaborative team player with a proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
