Summary: The role of Interim Accountant involves supporting the Finance Director of a national construction company in Manchester for a duration of three months. The successful candidate will manage financial and management accounts, prepare monthly financial reports, and provide commercial support to senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance Director with adhoc projects.
  • Take full ownership of Financial and Management Accounts.
  • Manage the P&L and provide commercial support to Senior Stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including balance sheets and bank reconciliations.
  • Create key documents such as income statements and financial summaries.
  • Track the company's financial performance and suggest improvements.
  • Explain financial information clearly to management.

Key Skills:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified (QBE considered).
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Availability to start within 2 weeks.
  • Experience in construction property preferred but not required.
  • Ability to track financial performance and identify issues.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining financial information.

Salary (Rate): £375 Daily

An Interim Accountant for a Manchester Construction Business.

Your new company
A well-established national construction company based in North Manchester is seeking an experienced accountant to join their finance team for 3 months whilst they recruit a permanent replacement.

Your new role
In your new role you'll be supporting the Finance Director with adhoc projects whilst taking full ownership of the Financial and Management Accounts. You will have full control of the P&L whilst providing commercial support to Senior Stakeholders - finance and non-finance. This role involves preparing monthly financial reports, including balance sheets and bank reconciliations. It also includes creating key documents like income statements and financial summaries.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified (QBE will also be considered) and have previous experience in a similar role. The client has stated that due to the urgency of the role, you will need to be available to start within 2 weeks. Construction property would be preferred and an advantage, but not a requirement. You'll be responsible for tracking the company's financial performance, spotting any issues, and suggesting ways to improve. You'll also support management by explaining financial information in a clear and helpful way.
