Summary: The Interim Management Accountant role involves providing essential financial analysis and management reporting support to senior leadership at a Further Education College in Greater Manchester. The position requires ensuring compliance with funding requirements, producing accurate management accounts, and collaborating with budget holders to enhance financial processes. The ideal candidate should possess relevant experience in the education sector and a recognized accounting qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with ESFA funding requirements and other regulatory bodies
- Produce highly accurate College Management Accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
- Prepare, analyse, and distribute monthly budget holder statements and report risks or overspends
- Meet with budget holders to provide financial support and training
- Support the Payroll Officer with monthly Payroll and Pensions processes
- Assist with annual budget setting and financial planning processes
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial processes and reporting
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in a similar role within the education sector (FE/HE preferred)
- A recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Proactive approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability to start at short notice
