Summary: The role of Interim Group Accountant involves providing technical support for group consolidations, statutory reporting, and audit delivery within a leading international hospitality and lifestyle business. The position is based in London and requires on-site presence five days a week for a duration of 3-6 months. The candidate will be responsible for ownership of consolidated statutory reporting and liaising with external auditors. Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in IFRS, is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership of consolidated statutory reporting under IFRS across multiple international entities
- Preparation and review of technical accounting papers (leases, FX, revenue recognition, impairments)
- Liaison with external auditors, ensuring smooth year-end delivery
- Strengthening balance sheet controls and embedding robust reporting frameworks
- Supporting monthly group consolidations and reconciliations
- Acting as a subject matter expert for technical accounting queries across the finance team
Key Skills:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent), ideally practice trained (Big 4/top 10)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly IFRS
- Proven experience with multi-entity consolidations in an international group
- Confident working in a fast-paced environment, able to add value quickly
- Hospitality, leisure or consumer sector experience a plus (not essential)
