Key Responsibilities:

  • Month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and balance-sheet reviews
  • Preparing accurate management accounts with clear variance analysis and performance drivers
  • Owning FP&A reporting across service lines and cost centres, ensuring data consistency and control
  • Producing weekly and monthly KPI packs with commercial insight and concise commentary
  • Partnering with operational and commercial teams on spend, margins, activity levels and cost movements
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles, including risk, opportunity and trend analysis
  • Contributing to cashflow forecasting and short-term liquidity oversight
  • Strengthening financial controls, improving processes and standardising reporting
  • Delivering ad hoc analysis and decision support for operational and commercial initiatives

Cedar is partnered with a private-equity-backed manufacturing group to appoint an Interim Finance Manager. The role is based in West Scotland, around the Kilmarnock area, with two to three days per week onsite. This is a 3-6 month assignment , paying £400-£500 per day (outside IR35).

The organisation is a technology manufacturing group supplying specialist products and engineered solutions to commercial and industrial customers across the UK. It operates through multiple sites and business units and is strengthening its finance function following recent investment. The focus is on tighter financial control, standardised reporting and improved visibility of performance across product lines and operations. The Role

As Interim Finance Manager, you will report to the Head of Finance and work as a true all-rounder across both core accounting and commercial analysis. You will own month end, support ongoing process improvement, and contribute to planning cycles.
