Summary: The role of Business Analyst focuses on providing expert-level analysis within finance, investment, and actuarial operations in the Financial Services sector. This position supports a Retail-driven transformation impacting Group financial systems and processes, requiring collaboration with various teams. The successful candidate will replace an existing contractor and will be part of a well-established BA function. Key responsibilities include translating transformation requirements, analyzing accounting flows, and producing high-quality functional designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead expert-level analysis across finance, actuarial and investment processes
- Translate Retail transformation into clear Finance & Investment requirements
- Analyse accounting flows, ledger impacts, data pipelines and system integrations
- Support design, build, testing and embedding of new products and system changes
- Produce high-quality requirements and functional designs with full traceability
- Operate in a mainly waterfall delivery environment, aligned to agile Retail sprints
- Run workshops and explain complex financial concepts to senior stakeholders
- Assess risks, dependencies and upstream/downstream impacts across teams
Key Skills:
- Deep understanding of accounting flows (debits/credits, ledgers)
- Ability to interpret actuarial/finance impacts of product changes
- Comfortable working daily with Accountants and Actuaries
- Part-qualified accountant or finance-system implementation experience desirable
- Strong BA experience in accounting systems, actuarial systems, investment ops
- Experience in product launch, product lifecycle and back-end integrations
- Skilled in analysing data flows and complex system behaviour
- Strong waterfall delivery experience (essential)
- Understanding of agile/hybrid delivery (beneficial)
- Confident managing dependencies and multi-team delivery alignment

About the Role
We’re hiring a highly experienced Business Analyst with deep Finance Process expertise in the Financial Services sector to join the Finance & Group (F&G) value stream . This role sits across finance, investment, actuarial operations and product change — supporting major Retail-driven transformation impacting Group financial systems and processes. You’ll join a well-established BA function, replacing an existing contractor, with strong onboarding, stable leadership, and close collaboration with Retail, Product, Finance, Investment and Actuarial teams.
