Summary: The Interim Finance Director will lead the finance function of a high-growth SaaS and data insights business during a critical expansion phase. This role involves overseeing financial operations, controls, reporting, and planning while managing a small finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of SaaS business models and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Immediate availability is required for this 3-6 month contract position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the finance team and manage the full finance agenda, including financial operations, controls, reporting, and planning.
- Maintain financial rigour and oversight across all core processes.
- Support preparation for potential investment, including building out FP&A and Board-level reporting.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow planning.
- Oversee compliance, audit, tax, and regulatory responsibilities (UK and international).
- Manage and mentor the existing finance team (management accountant, credit control, bookkeeping).
- Improve financial systems, processes, and reporting tools (Xero, Excel, PowerBI).
- Partner with senior stakeholders, particularly commercial and operational leads.
Key Skills:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience in senior finance roles in fast-growth, tech-led businesses.
- Strong understanding of SaaS business models and relevant metrics.
- Comfortable working hands-on while providing strategic guidance to the executive team.
- Proven ability to improve reporting, controls, and financial planning in an SME environment.
- Available immediately or at short notice (two weeks max).

A high-growth SaaS and data-focused business is seeking an Interim Finance Director to lead its finance function during a key period of expansion. Following the launch of new digital products and with investment on the horizon, the company requires a commercially minded finance leader to provide stability, oversight and forward-looking insight.
The Opportunity
You will lead a small finance team and take responsibility for the full finance agenda, including financial operations, controls, reporting and planning. With rapid scaling underway, the role requires someone comfortable working in a fast-paced, product-led environment who can balance day-to-day delivery with strategic input.
