Summary: The Interim Finance Assistant role is a 5-month contract position within a high-growth engineering company, focusing on supporting Accounts Payable workflows across multiple entities. The successful candidate will work closely with the finance team to ensure efficient processing and reporting during a critical growth phase. This position is designed for someone who can quickly adapt and contribute to the team's operations. The role is outside IR35, allowing for flexible engagement terms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support end-to-end Accounts Payable processes, including coding and uploading invoices across multiple currencies and entities
  • Monitor finance inboxes and liaise with internal budget holders for invoice approvals
  • Maintain accurate supplier records and handle any supplier queries quickly and professionally
  • Reconcile company card transactions and employee expense claims
  • Support the wider finance team with month-end close and ad-hoc reporting
  • Assist in maintaining the receivables ledger and following up on customer payments
  • Help update treasury systems and ensure accurate cash position reporting
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and system enhancements

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience in Accounts Payable or similar operational finance roles
  • Comfortable processing high volumes of multi-currency invoices
  • Confident with MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of SAP (preferred)
  • Experience working in a scale-up or multi-entity environment (preferred)

Harmonic is delighted to be working exclusively with an innovative, high-growth engineering company going through a busy period of scaling operations. This role sits outside IR35 and is offered on a 5-month contract to provide immediate support to the finance team.

The Client

Our client is a UK-based engineering business building ground-breaking technology in a fast-paced, mission-led environment. With operations expanding across multiple entities, they are seeking an experienced Interim Finance Assistant to join their team and help maintain smooth and accurate finance operations during a critical growth phase.

The Role

As Interim Finance Assistant, your core focus will be on Accounts Payable workflows across multiple group entities. The business is looking for someone who can hit the ground running from day one and keep things moving efficiently in a fast-changing environment. You’ll work closely with the Financial Controller and the wider finance team to ensure timely processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
