Summary: The role of Interim CFO at Morgan Law involves leading financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for a Not-For-Profit organization during a period of absence. The position requires oversight of financial performance, development of financial data architecture, and support for strategic initiatives. This contract role is hybrid, based in London, and is expected to last for six months. The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with significant experience in senior financial roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the company and its subsidiaries
  • Provide financial input to the CEO and board
  • Oversee the monitoring and analysis of financial performance against key performance indicators and benchmarks
  • Develop the technology blueprint and financial data architecture to ensure timely, accurate and holistic reporting of finance-related matters
  • Support the CEO, COO, and Group Director of Strategy in identifying and analyzing new business opportunities and providing guidance through effective due diligence activities
  • Support the ongoing assessment of the organization’s assets, advising the board on financial viability, risk, and opportunity
  • Ensure financial controls are in place and continually reviewed to ensure they remain effective in measuring business performance, assessment of risk, and identification of emerging opportunities for cost saving and increasing profitability
  • Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and third parties to which functions have been outsourced
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports, presenting clear performance to internal and external stakeholders to aid decision making
  • Lead on financial aspects in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives

Key Skills:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA)
  • Proven experience as a CFO or senior financial executive
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Strong technical accounting skills, particularly in consolidating individual subsidiary accounts
  • Experience in leading the transition to a new finance system
  • Background in leading finance functions of charities, central government bodies, or institutions

Salary (Rate): 850
