The work involves interpreting requirements and specifications to develop comprehensive test plans and test cases, executing test cases and recording results systematically, managing defects through the defect lifecycle, contributing to test summary reports, and advising delivery teams on testing coverage and risk. Test Analysts are engaged on formal waterfall and hybrid delivery programmes, regulated system implementations, and government technology programmes where structured test documentation and traceability is a governance requirement.
Test Analyst contractors are expected to have strong analytical skills alongside solid testing methodology knowledge. Experience deriving test cases from requirements using techniques such as equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, and decision table testing is expected.
