Summary: The role of IT Service Desk Contractor involves supporting the IT team during a Windows 11 rollout at a historic organization in Scotland. This contract position requires proactive engagement in day-to-day IT operations and ensuring museum staff remain connected and productive. The contractor will handle various IT support tasks, including user account management and hardware upgrades. The position is hybrid, requiring three days on-site and two days of remote work each week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New starter and leaver processing (account creation, access setup)
  • Installing RAM and SSDs in laptops for Windows 11 compatibility
  • Providing 1st line IT support (onsite and remote)
  • Logging and resolving tickets
  • User account management in Active Directory

Key Skills:

  • 2+ years experience in a service desk or IT support role
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft environments (Windows 10/11, Office 365, AD)
  • Comfortable with hands-on hardware upgrades
  • Great communication and problem-solving skills
