Summary: The In-House Data Privacy Lawyer will join Squire Patton Boggs' data protection compliance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, advising on data protection, cybersecurity, and e-privacy compliance across the global firm. The role involves supporting the Data Protection Officer and the Office of General Counsel, with a focus on UK and EU GDPR compliance and international data transfers. The successful candidate will provide legal guidance on various data privacy issues and contribute to the firm's compliance initiatives. This position offers flexible working options across the firm's UK locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on UK and EU GDPR compliance and complex international data transfers.
- Support data protection and security due diligence assessments on third-party vendors.
- Provide legal guidance on HR-related data protection issues.
- Develop training and awareness programs for data governance.
- Identify and address privacy compliance gaps during policy reviews.
- Support employees with data protection compliance across business functions.
- Collaborate with the global privacy legal team on compliance requirements in other jurisdictions.
- Advise on e-privacy compliance in marketing.
- Assist in responding to data subject requests and compliance initiatives.
Key Skills:
- Qualified solicitor (1-5 PQE) with experience in data protection and privacy matters.
