Summary: The Human Resources Adviser role is a fixed-term position for approximately 12 months, starting in July 2025, to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will provide professional HR advice and support within a dedicated Faculty area, focusing on recruitment, employee relations, and contributing to university-wide HR initiatives. The role requires a degree or equivalent experience, CIPD qualification, and a proven track record in HR casework management. A flexible, problem-solving approach is essential for success in this busy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional HR advice and support on generalist HR issues.
- Handle recruitment and selection processes.
- Manage employee relations and HR casework, including disciplinary and grievance investigations.
- Contribute to policy development and engagement with trade unions.
- Support restructuring activities and negotiate with trade unions.
- Interpret and apply HR best practices and employment legislation to complex cases.
- Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and present information to various audiences.
Key Skills:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
- CIPD qualified.
- Proven track record in HR at a professional level.
- Experience in managing HR casework independently.
- Knowledge of pay and reward systems, job evaluation, and equal pay compliance.
- Ability to adopt a consultancy style and HR business partnering approach.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Problem-solving and customer-focused mindset.
