Summary: The HR Officer/HR Manager role at a Teesside-based charity involves providing comprehensive HR support and guidance to managers throughout the employee lifecycle. The position includes managing HR casework, improving HR procedures, and ensuring compliance with employment law. The successful candidate will also oversee HR administration and contribute to employee well-being initiatives. This permanent position offers a salary between £35,000 and £40,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of 2 part-time HR Administrators
- Manage HR casework including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement, and potentially redundancy
- Manage processes for induction, probation, performance, attendance, and sickness
- Review, improve, implement HR procedures ensuring that managers are adequately trained and supported
- Ensure policies and procedures are up to date and legally compliant
- Provide HR reports and statistics
- Lead and advise on recruitment, authorisation process, job descriptions, application forms, interview questions, and undertaking DBS and other employment checks
- Ensure payroll information is provided to Finance in accordance with procedures
- Deliver the Annual Staff Satisfaction Survey
- Manage and monitor employee well-being
- Maintain leave, sickness, maternity, paternity & adoption, and associated paperwork
Key Skills:
- A thorough understanding of employment law and applying this into practice
- Minimum Level 5 in HR Management with a proven track record
- Ability to review contracts of employment, policies, procedures & documents
- Experience in training managers and staff
- Experience of HRIS
- Strong resilience and positive attitude
- Excellent communication and report writing skills
