Summary: The HR Manager role at a public sector organization in Glasgow involves leading employee relations case work, developing HR policies, and ensuring compliance with legislation. The position requires collaboration with the Head of HR and mentoring of HR officers to enhance service delivery. This is a 6-month contract position with a focus on operational HR service improvement and employee relations. The role is based on-site and requires a proactive approach to HR management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate employee relations case work in consultation with the Head of HR.
- Develop internal work systems and processes to improve HR service delivery.
- Support the Head of HR in ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.
- Mentor Senior/HR Officers for their professional development.
- Contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures.
- Deliver Key Performance Indicators and management information for compliance and workforce planning.
- Oversee HR/Payroll integration and maintain delivery standards.
- Ensure compliance with Home Office Immigration requirements.
- Implement HR projects and develop action plans.
- Oversee recruitment activities and ensure integrity in staff grading decisions.
- Support productive TU consultation and employee relations.
- Collaborate on the Staff Development Strategy and organizational development initiatives.
- Promote the Equality agenda within HR practices.
- Engage in professional development activities related to HR and employment law.
- Deputise for the Head of HR when necessary.
- Promote equality, diversity, and staff well-being across activities.
Key Skills:
- Degree or equivalent.
- CIPD qualified.
- Experience managing complex employee relations case work.
- Proven record in a senior HR role with project management experience.
- Successful HR policy development and implementation.
- Experience in consultation and negotiation with trade unions.
- Excellent motivational and interpersonal skills.
