Summary: The HR Advisor role is a 12-month fixed-term contract focused on providing essential HR support on the factory floor of a food manufacturing site in Hull. The position requires a proactive individual to manage various HR functions, including advising managers, handling disciplinary actions, and maintaining employee records. This role is critical in ensuring smooth HR operations during the maternity leave of the current HR Advisor. The ideal candidate will have relevant HR experience, particularly in manufacturing, and a CIPD qualification or be working towards it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising line managers on the day-to-day people stuff
  • Handling disciplinaries, grievances, probation reviews and exit interviews
  • Keeping employee records tight contracts, inductions, payroll info, training logs
  • Supporting audits (ethical, internal, customer the lot)
  • Coordinating training and making sure the Matrix isn t just a spreadsheet graveyard

Key Skills:

  • CIPD qualified or working towards it
  • Solid experience in an HR role within manufacturing (food/FMCG is ideal)
  • Comfortable handling a bit of everything admin, advice, and awkward conversations
  • The confidence to work with managers at all levels and push back when needed
  • A practical mindset and the ability to get stuck in from day one

£35,000 Site-Based Food Manufacturing Hull

Let s be honest this isn t HR in a plush office with beanbags and breakfast bars.

This is HR where it matters. On the factory floor. In real conversations. With real people.

And right now, they need someone who knows what they re doing.

The current HR Advisor is off on maternity leave, and they need someone solid to step in. You ll be part of a site employing around 500 people all of whom expect the HR team to keep things running smoothly.

This isn t a box-ticking job. You ll be a key voice in a small but busy HR team. You ll be supporting managers, coaching where needed, and making sure everything from disciplinaries to audits runs as it should.
