Summary: The HR Advisor role at Avara Foods involves providing comprehensive HR services within a fast-paced FMCG factory environment. The position requires a proactive approach to managing employee relations, absence policies, and supporting various HR projects. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based at the Brackley site, focusing on delivering effective HR support to internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice on all employee relations matters and ensure investigations, grievances, and disciplinary hearings are conducted in line with company policies.
- Offer guidance to managers on absence policies and procedures, supporting review meetings.
- Manage long-term absence cases, including referrals to Occupational Health.
- Act as the first point of contact for maternity, paternity, adoption, and flexible working cases.
- Process new starters, leavers, and contractual changes as necessary.
- Support managers with probationary review meetings and ethical audits.
- Respond to telephone and email queries and conduct exit interviews.
- Assist the Resourcing department with interviews for various vacancies.
- Help with the company’s induction program for new starters.
Key Skills:
- Up-to-date experience and confidence in using Microsoft Office and HR packages.
- Good working knowledge of employment law.
- CIPD qualified or working towards it is desirable.
- Experience in a manufacturing or fast-paced organization.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask.
- Drive to improve performance and deliver outstanding results.
- Methodical with attention to detail while working at pace.
- Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience in conflict resolution.

The role is Office based, so you’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf-life products where hygiene standards are critical . As a HR Advisor you’ll be working Monday to Friday 08.30 - 17.00. Flexibility will be required to provide an effective service to our twilight colleagues.
What will you be doing as a HR Advisor at Avara? As a HR Advisor you will ensure delivery of an efficient and effective HR service to all internal and external stakeholders To provide a comprehensive and professional service on all people related issues in line with our policies, processes and legal requirements.
What will your key responsibilities as a HR Advisor include?
- Provide advice on all ER matters and to ensure all investigations, grievances and disciplinary hearings are conducted in line with the company policies, to ensure best practice adopted.
- Providing advice and guidance to Managers on our Absence Policy and Procedures and support review meetings.
- Proactive management of our long-term absent colleagues including referrals to Occupational Health as and when appropriate.
