Summary: The Highways Project Manager role involves overseeing a NEC Highway Improvement and carriageway maintenance project for BCP Council in Bournemouth. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the project life cycle of a NEC contract
  • Manage all contract communications, through CEMAR or equivalent
  • Develop solutions to resolve site queries and design issues
  • Review and accept contractor programmes
  • Review contractors' traffic management plans and proposals
  • Provide project highlight/progress reports to update the client team
  • Monitor project progress against programme, quality, and budget
  • Provide technical advice to clients and colleagues
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and health and safety legislation
  • Support internal communications teams to inform residents and stakeholders
  • Manage internal BCP staff supporting project delivery

Key Skills:

  • NEC Project Manager Accreditation
  • BSC (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering or related field/experience
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD
  • Experience with CEMAR or equivalent
  • Experience in project management software
  • Knowledge of relevant design standards and regulations
  • Experience with highway contracts and specifications
  • Valid UK driving licence
