Summary: The Health and Safety Projects Manager will oversee operations, governance, and assurance for a major infrastructure programme in Derbyshire, focusing on compliance across construction sites. This role requires SC clearance and involves engaging with contractors and stakeholders to enhance health and safety performance. The position is expected to last for an initial 6-8 months with a likelihood of extension. The candidate will be responsible for leading safety inspections and audits while ensuring adherence to statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead governance and assurance processes across site operations
  • Oversee statutory inspections and contractor compliance
  • Conduct site audits, safety inspections, and investigations
  • Engage with multiple contractors and stakeholders, representing the client’s HSE interests
  • Drive continuous improvement in health and safety performance

Key Skills:

  • SC-cleared or eligible for clearance (sponsorship possible)
  • Proven track record in managing HSE within large-scale infrastructure or regulated industries (nuclear, defence, energy, rail, etc.)
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
  • NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 5/6, or equivalent

Salary (Rate): £56.25/hr

We’re supporting a long-term, high-security major infrastructure programme in Derby. The project involves large-scale construction and site upgrades for a nationally significant client. The Health and Safety Project Manager will focus on operations, governance, and assurance, ensuring compliance across active construction sites and complex infrastructure works.
