Summary: The Head of Procurement will lead the procurement strategy for a logistics sector leader, focusing on efficiency and value maximization. This role involves developing procurement policies, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing inventory and logistics. The position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in procurement and team leadership. The successful candidate will foster a culture of continuous improvement within the procurement team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a company-wide procurement policy to control costs and rationalise purchasing.
• Develop an annual business plan to meet customer expectations for service provision and maintenance.
• Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the procurement team to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead supplier relationships to ensure delivery of EBIT and negotiate key commercial contracts.
• Manage risk through effective risk management disciplines.

Key Skills:

• 5+ years of management experience, leading teams of 6 or more.
• Extensive indirect procurement experience with a focus on stakeholder management.
• Strong communication skills and experience in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
• Understanding of maintenance and production processes (desirable but not essential).
• Fully CIPS qualified with a degree level education and management qualifications.
