Key Responsibilities:
- Lead transformation and change programmes focused on automation and AI within the legal team.
- Advise and review current processes and contracts associated with projects and suppliers.
- Report to the Global General Counsel on project progress and other legal matters.
- Implement legal tech and automation measures to improve legal processes and service delivery.
- Facilitate roll-out and training of new processes, ensuring stakeholder buy-in.
- Utilize influencing and negotiation skills to support commercial outcomes.
- Work collaboratively within a dynamic in-house legal environment.
Key Skills:
- Experience as Senior Legal Counsel or Head of Legal/GC with a focus on legal operations.

The Business: Our client is a leading global investment research business who are seeking an experienced contractor to join the team as soon as possible.
The role: The role will play an integral part of the legal team over the next few months to a year. The key purpose of the role will be to spearhead transformation and change programmes around automation and the use of AI and Tech to improve the efficiencies within the legal team. The person who leads on the project will advise and review current processes, contracts associated with project and suppliers and work closely and report into the Global GC (Based in London) on this project and potentially other legal matters relating to the team management (team of 5) and escalation of other legal and commercial matters. However, the key focus will be around the transformation and efficiency improvement project at hand in the first instance.
The ideal candidate will: – Have good experience as Senior Legal Counsel or Head of Legal/GC with focus on legal operations – Have good knowledge and exposure around legal process improvement, process implementation and have experience in the implementation of legal tech, AI and automation measures to improve the processes within legal teams and improve the delivery and service of legal support provided to the wider business – Experience in roll out and training surrounding new processes – getting buy-in from all key stakeholders and taking a measured and commercial approach to process improvement – Excellent influencing and negotiation skills to support commercial outcomes for the business – Experience within a dynamic in-house environment as a senior legal professional (7+ years PQE Ideally) – Be a team player and methodical in approach and able to work to deadlines – Be excited by transforming processes and change in legal teams to provide better outcomes and services to the legal team and their stakeholders.
Day rate: Competitive. Note – You can operate outside IR35 through Ltd Company OR as a PAYE contractor on our agency payroll if you do not have a LTD company set up.
Working arrangements : 1-2 days per week in office a week ideal – this is flexible and also flexible in terms of the days but some office attendance is important to our client. Not 100% remote but very good flexibility. Full time/ Part Time: Ideally 5 days a week but client may consider 4 days a week for the ideal candidate.
