Summary: The Interim Head of Finance role in Birkenhead involves leading the finance department of a fast-growing distribution group with a turnover of approximately £30m. The position requires a hands-on finance professional to manage a team of four and oversee all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities:

• Managing and leading the accounts department
• Timely preparation of accurate monthly management accounts for all group companies and consolidated group accounts
• Preparation of budgets
• Daily cash flow forecasting
• Regular reforecasting with analysis and insight into reasons for variance from budget/plan
• Input into the group strategic planning process
• Management of the annual audit process, including preparation of all working papers for the year-end statutory accounts and tax computations
• Management of the group’s IT systems, undertaking finance tasks and analysis in Excel

Key Skills:

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
• Experience of working at a senior level and providing successful financial leadership and management
• Competence in all key areas of finance and accounting processes
• Experience of distribution or manufacturing
• Demonstrable experience and skill in engaging and working collaboratively at all levels
• Strong self-starter
• Excellent Excel skills
