Summary: The Head of Data Science and AI will lead the strategic and operational implementation of data science and AI automation within the organization, focusing on efficiency and customer benefits. This role involves managing a team of data scientists, ensuring clear objectives, and providing leadership on responsible AI governance. The successful candidate will possess expert knowledge in various data science techniques and will be responsible for mentoring team members and delivering successful projects. Active SC Clearance is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategise and operationalise data science and AI automation across the organisation.
• Lead a team of data scientists and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Build team capability and ensure clear objectives for successful project delivery.
• Provide leadership on responsible AI governance and procurement of third-party products.
• Innovate and solve business problems through data science applications.
• Measure benefits of data science solutions and roadmap improvements.
• Mentor and develop data scientists within the team.

Key Skills:

• Expert knowledge of data science and machine learning techniques.
• Strong understanding of statistics, applied mathematics, and scientific analysis.
• Experience with exploratory data analysis and statistical analysis of large datasets.
• Practitioner knowledge of Machine Learning Ops and A/B testing.
• Familiarity with responsible and ethical AI practices.
• Proficiency in scientific programming languages such as Python, R, or C++.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in leading projects and mentoring teams.
