Summary: The Group Financial Accountant role is a 12-month fixed-term contract focused on delivering accurate financial reporting within a large organization. The position requires a technically proficient accountant who can enhance processes and drive efficiencies in a complex finance environment. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders and external auditors to ensure compliance and quality in financial outputs. Key responsibilities include financial analysis, statutory reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate capture, review, and reporting of Group financial and performance information
- Supporting retained Financial Accounting activities, ensuring outputs meet strict deadlines and quality standards
- Reviewing, analysing, and challenging financial results to enhance robustness of controls
- Preparation and delivery of detailed balance sheet analysis and reconciliation reporting
- Driving continuous improvement across accounting processes, including automation and efficiency initiatives
- Liaising with external auditors, coordinating audit requests, and resolving audit findings
- Preparation of statutory accounts for multiple trading and corporate entities
- Completion of statutory, legal, and tax reporting requirements for UK and Ireland entities
- Working closely with internal stakeholders across Group Finance, Corporate Accounting, and other central functions
- Supporting SOX compliance and implementation of new or updated control requirements
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA)
- Around 2 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally with strong technical or practice exposure
- Solid technical accounting knowledge within a Group or complex environment
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
- Proven experience driving process improvements and strengthening controls
- Ability to work to tight deadlines with minimal supervision
- SAP experience preferred

Working as part of the wider Group and Business Accounting team, the Group Financial Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality financial reporting across the Group.
