Summary: The role of Graduate Building Surveyor involves supporting the Govan Housing Group by inspecting and assessing properties within their portfolio for a fixed term of 18 months. The successful candidates will collect and update data on property conditions in accordance with housing association standards and regulatory requirements. This position requires a degree in Building Surveying or a related field, along with relevant knowledge and skills in building surveying practices. Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with residents and team members effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and assess the condition of properties across the housing association’s portfolio.
- Collect and accurately record data on each property.
- Update the asset management database with findings.
- Ensure all data is recorded in line with Housing Association standards and regulatory requirements.
- Engage professionally with residents and team members.
Key Skills:
- A degree or equivalent in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of building surveying practices, including property inspections and defect identification.
- Familiarity with relevant housing quality standards and building regulations, particularly the Scottish Quality Housing Standard (SQHS).
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations in the context of building surveying.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Excellent communication skills.
