Summary: The role of Contract Domestic Gas Quality Control Auditor involves conducting quality control inspections for social housing providers in Norwich and Ipswich. The auditor will assess the performance and compliance of gas engineers, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and standards. This position requires a full suite of ACS qualifications and experience in gas auditing or related fields. The role is contract-based, requiring availability five days a week and the use of personal tools and a van.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality control inspections on gas works for social housing providers.
- Verify engineer identification and professionalism during inspections.
- Check for proper documentation, including LGSR copies.
- Perform gas rate and FGA checks on boilers.
- Inspect installations, including radiators and pipework.
- Assess breakdowns to confirm proper repairs were made.
Key Skills:
- Full suite of ACS qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, CPA1).
- Detailed knowledge of gas appliances and central heating systems.
- Understanding of Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations 1998.
- Good communication skills.
- Full driving licence.
- Previous experience in auditing/inspecting or extensive gas experience in social housing.

Role Description
We are currently recruiting for a Contract Domestic Gas Quality Control Auditor to cover Norwich and Ipswich 5 days per week (Monday - Friday)
This role will entail quality control inspections being undertaken on a variety of works carried out for social housing providers.
Service
- Turn up and ask tenant if engineer showed his ID/gas Safe Card
- Was the engineer polite and well presented?
- Did the engineer leave a copy LGSR?
- Check boiler and do a Gas rate and FGA on max to check readings are the same
- Visual Check PRV termination, condensate, room thermostat
Install
- Same as above but also check radiators if installed & TRVs
- Is pipework clipped?
- Tightness test only id deemed necessary
Breakdown
- ie engineer fitted a pump - did he/she actually fit a pump?
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A full suite of ACS qualifications. As a minimum: CCN1, CENWAT (CEN1, WAT1), HTR1, CKR1 and CPA1
- Detailed knowledge of gas appliances and central heating systems supplemented by a thorough understanding of Normative Documents especially the Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations 1998
- Good communication skills
- Full driving licence
The ideal candidate will have some previous experience in auditing/inspecting jobs OR great experience across all aspects of gas within Social Housing, availability 5 days per week (Monday- Friday) and their own van and tools as well as up to date documents eg ACS, Calibration, Public Liability Insurance etc.
Job Type: Contract (self employed)
Pay: per completed job, Paid 1 week in arrears
