Summary: The PAUT Technician role at Glacier Energy involves delivering high-quality PAUT and TOFD inspections on monopile fabrication for offshore wind contracts. The technician will work closely with project managers and QA teams to ensure compliance with safety, schedule, and documentation standards. This position is part of a long-term contract opportunity within the Inspection Services team, based in Middlesbrough. Key Responsibilities:
- Execute PAUT and TOFD inspections on longitudinal & circumferential welds using automated scanner systems.
- Carry out UT inspections on secondary steel TKY connections.
- Characterise and size defects in line with ISO and project-specific standards.
- Operate and interpret data using instruments such as OmniScan X3/X4, Focus PX, and Weldsight software.
- Produce clear, audit-ready reports with full data management.
- Adhere to health, safety, and quality standards (QMS, ISO 17020/17025, RAMS, PTW).
Key Skills:
- PCN Level 2 in PAUT, TOFD, UT (3.1/3.2/3.7/3.8/3.9), VT, MT & PT.
- Proven PAUT & TOFD inspection experience on monopile welds using automated scanners.
- Strong conventional UT experience on secondary steel TKY connections.
- Competent in defect characterisation & sizing to ISO 13588, 10863, 11666, 17640, and project ITPs.
- Skilled in OmniScan X3/X4, Focus PX, and Weldsight software.
- Able to produce clear, audit-ready inspection reports with full data traceability.
- Knowledge of QMS systems (e.g. Papertrail), ISO 17020/17025, RAMS, and PTW systems.
- Strong health & safety awareness in fabrication environments (lifting, hot work, confined spaces, work at height).
- Detail-oriented, proactive problem-solver, effective communicator, flexible with shifts and priorities.
- Medically fit (handle up to 20kg), right to work in the UK, able to pass site security & substance screening.

Role Purpose You will deliver high quality PAUT and TOFD inspection on monopile fabrication while working closely with the project manager and QA team. You will execute inspections to approved procedures, ITPs, and client specifications for an offshore wind contract, ensuring schedule, safety, and documentation are met.
