Contract Full Stack Developer – Fintech (Hybrid, London) We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join a fintech company on an initial 6-month contract. This is a hybrid role (3 days per week in the office), based in Baker Street, London, offering a day rate of £550 (Inside IR35). This role will focus on building and enhancing data-driven platforms, working closely with investment teams, quants, and analysts. Strong communication skills and a proactive, energetic approach are essential.
Key Requirements
- Strong Python development experience, particularly in building platforms and scalable systems
- Experience within financial services, ideally working with investment teams, quants, or analysts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage directly with stakeholders
- C# experience is desirable but not essential
Required Experience
- Experience building and operating production systems over time, ideally in an iterative environment
- Strong proficiency in: Python SQL Cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
- Experience with data pipelines and orchestration tools (e.g. Dagster)
- Experience working with analytical or data-intensive workloads
- Ability to work closely with users to understand workflows, identify pain points, and translate these into technical solutions
- Strong problem-solving ability with a systems-thinking mindset
Highly Desirable Experience
- Experience with .NET, ideally C#
- Experience building internal platforms or developer tooling (e.g. PaaS)
- Experience supporting data science or analytics workflows
- Experience with CI/CD (e.g. Azure DevOps) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform)
- Familiarity with modern data platforms such as Snowflake
- Exposure to machine learning / AI workflows and associated tooling
- Strong knowledge of Python libraries and developer tooling
