Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the RTR Core Accounting team and overseeing all journal-related activity
  • Leading and developing a team of 8 Accountants/Assistant Accountants
  • Ensuring timely and accurate journal postings, accruals, prepayments, and corrections
  • Supporting month-end close and investigating balance sheet discrepancies
  • Driving improvements in journal templates and month-end risk management
  • Working with Continuous Improvement to implement automation and process enhancements
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and chart of accounts
  • Developing team capability and eliminating single points of failure
  • Supporting sub-ledger and general ledger close (AP, AR, Payroll, Projects, FA)
  • Overseeing fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, FX revaluations, and intercompany postings

Key Skills:

  • Experience managing a financial accounting team (minimum 4–5 people)
  • Strong technical background in journals and month-end processes

Financial Accounting Manager – Core Accounting | £60,000-£77,000 + bonus | Media business (TV & Film) | Manchester (2 days in the office) | 6 month fixed term contract

A Financial Accounting Manager / R2R Manager is required to join a leading Media business based in MediaCity on a 6-month fixed-term contract (hybrid working, 2 days per week in the office). This is a critical hire to support the finance operations team during a period of transition and change and has a arisen due to an internal secondment. Reporting to the Head of RTR, you will manage a team of 8 and take ownership of core accounting processes, ensuring the month-end close is delivered accurately and on time. This role is hands-on and requires someone who has led similar teams and processes before.
