Summary: The role of Temporary Finance Manager - Audit involves leading the external audit process and managing the annual year-end financial audit for a charity in Dorset. The position is temporary, covering a period of 3 months with a potential extension, and requires an experienced Accountant, preferably with charity experience. The role includes responsibilities such as preparing audit schedules, producing management accounts, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the external audit process and produce year-end accounts.
- Ensure financial systems comply with statutory requirements.
- Prepare audit schedules and year-end figures.
- Assist with writing the Annual Report & Accounts and liaise with external auditors.
- Produce Management accounts, Branch accounts, and forecasting.
- Offer financial guidance and information to staff.
- Travel to the Head Office in Dorset as required.
Key Skills:
- Experience as an Accountant, preferably in a charity setting.
- Strong knowledge of external audit processes.
- Ability to prepare year-end accounts and audit schedules.
- Understanding of statutory compliance in financial systems.
- Proficient in producing management accounts and financial forecasting.
- Excellent communication and liaison skills with external auditors.
