Summary: The Finance Manager for the Management Accounting Team will lead and develop a team of management accountants within a luxury business. This role involves overseeing the production of monthly management accounts, ensuring financial accuracy, and collaborating with various departments to enhance processes. The position requires strong leadership skills and a focus on continuous improvement in financial reporting and controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, support and develop a team of management accountants (qualified and part qualified), ensuring high performance and engagement.
  • Own the production of monthly management accounts and lead elements of group consolidation and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger activity and oversee key balance sheet areas across multiple legal entities.
  • Ensure robust reconciliations, risk identification and corrective actions.
  • Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, preparing schedules and supporting year-end processes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve controls.
  • Contribute to ongoing finance transformation work, including opportunities for automation and smarter reporting.
  • Deputise for the Financial Controller when required.

Key Skills:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience)
  • Proven experience managing and developing a finance team.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and high attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator able to explain complex information clearly.
  • Advanced/intermediate Excel skills.
  • Experience with SUN or similar accounting systems is helpful but not essential.
  • Background in the consumer, retail or multi-entity environment is an advantage.

Finance Manager - Management Accounting Team

Are you an enthusiastic people leader who enjoys improving processes, driving high-quality reporting and shaping a finance team? If you thrive in a leadership role and enjoy people management, this could be the role for you.

We're partnering with a successful luxury business looking for an experienced accountant to manage, support and develop the management accounting team. You'll manage a group of seven people with three direct reports accountants across different qualification levels and take ownership of delivering accurate and timely monthly results, strong financial controls, and continuously improving the integrity of the balance sheet.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys combining team leadership, hands-on technical work, and cross-functional collaboration. You'll work closely with Commercial Finance, Tax, and IT, and you'll also support transformation projects, system enhancements, and automation initiatives.

Hybrid: 2 days office (London), 3 days working from home.
