Summary: The Finance Manager will play a crucial role within the Finance team, acting as a Business Partner to the Chief Operating Officer and Managing Directors across various business units. This position involves overseeing finance processes, providing financial planning and analysis support, and ensuring effective communication of financial insights to leadership. The successful candidate will also be responsible for income statement management, variance analysis, and supporting M&A activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in understanding monthly financial statements and related reporting, focusing on revenue recognition and explaining variances.
  • Own and support the income statement, analyze trends, manage KPIs, and provide recommendations to business leaders.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights through variance analysis commentary, including risk management and financial modeling.
  • Support financial planning activities, including revenue forecasts, budgeting, and process improvements.
  • Prepare third-party commissions calculations and support M&A activities, including due diligence preparation.
  • Collaborate with financial accounting teams for alignment and improvement of financial reporting.
  • Assist with audit support and assess current practices for improvements.
  • Develop and communicate insights on business performance and spend effectiveness.
  • Structure and evaluate problems, design recommendations, and establish KPIs.
  • Prepare executive management presentations and act as a trusted partner to leadership.
  • Other responsibilities as required.

Key Skills:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
  • Minimum 10+ years of related experience in finance, preferably with business partnering experience in the software/technology industry.
  • Experience with M&A processes and due diligence.
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite 2.0.
  • Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to navigate ambiguity and complex environments comfortably.
  • Experience in presenting to and interacting across multiple organizational levels.

Detailed Description From Employer:

The Finance Manager will be an integral part of the Finance team and acting as a Business Partner to the Chief Operating Officer and the Managing Directors (MDs) of several business units. The individual is responsible for a range of finance processes including third party commission expenses, and income statement overview. In addition, the successful candidate will provide financial planning and analysis support activities for the MDs and other senior officers within the businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the understanding of monthly financial statements and related reporting, with a strong focus on revenue recognition reporting compared to sales / ARR reporting and explaining the variances.
  • Income statement ownership and support, analysing trends, managing KPI’s, reporting, and providing recommendations to business leaders that grow both annual recurring revenue and operating margins
  • Provide financial analysis and insight through meaningful variance analysis commentary including risk management, mitigating actions, deep dives or financial modelling
  • Support financial planning activities including thoroughly understanding revenue forecasts, budgeting and reforecasting and suggesting process improvements
  • Prepare third party commissions calculations
  • Support M&A activities including due diligence preparation
  • Collaborate with financial accounting teams to ensure alignment and continuous improvement of financial reporting
  • Assist as required to provide audit support for audits
  • Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Develop and communicate enhanced insights on business performance and spend effectiveness
  • Structure and evaluate problems, design applicable recommendations, establish KPIs

Skills & Experience
