Summary: The Finance and Professional Services Officer at the Dyson Institute will provide essential support to the administration of the Institute, reporting to both finance and professional services. This role involves assisting with financial reporting, managing administrative tasks, and contributing to various projects within the Institute. The position offers opportunities for personal development and is a 12-month opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly accounting close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries in SAP accounting system.
- Lead on production of monthly management accounts using Onestream data warehouse after a suitable development period.
- Deputise for Senior Finance Manager in matters relating to financial administration.
- Assist with preparation of audit schedules for annual financial audit.
- Process purchasing requests for Academic and Professional Services Teams.
- Act as secretary to the Institute Management Board.
- Operationalise student voice processes (Mid/End Semester Surveys, Student Annual Survey, Student Consultations).
- Maintain Institute Definitive Documentation.
- Process Programme Approval and Modification paperwork as per policy.
- Organise visitors, room bookings, catering, and transport for visitors to the Institute.
- Support the Institute Director as per their requirements.
- Contribute to Institute projects as required.
- Identify and provide key data to colleagues establishing the Digital Data Studio.
Key Skills:
- Accounting qualification (AAT or equivalent).
- Administrative experience (organising meetings, file management).
- Able to maintain confidentiality and role model the Institute’s management values.
